We're down to less than 400players and I have 19bbs at start of hand, average i think at this point was about 23-26.
Factors in the hand:-
1) Villain is new to table, only couple of orbits but has already shown aggressive tendencies in opening multiple pots from different positions
2) I have no stats on villian as my HUD only shows stats for more that 40hands in MTTs, so had to go with inital reads
3) A couple of hands earlier I had raise folded SB v BB, so could be viewed as a 'stealer' and capable of raise folding 20bb ish stack, villain would have seen this
4) Villain is Russian with a big stack……

I had already decided to go with my hand pre against the BB, but was not sure about action from the SB. I hated the size of his 3 bet as it smelt of strength and he was obviously committing to BBs stack, although it doesnt need to be any bigger to get a fold as flatting with my stack was not an option. So the questions are:-
1) 4bet shove or fold?
2) How much fold equity do I have in this spot? i.e apart from air what hands are in his range that i can get to fold pre if any?

I don't mind it. I don't mind a fold either, I think he should go a bit more on his 3b bluffs maybe like 28ish because it kinda stops you from being able to 4bjam wide. His sizing is leaving you as much room as possible to 4ball so I think folding is best, though I don't think a shove here is terrible.
I think you should def have your HUD come up before 40 hands (that's an option right?) because you can make a pretty decent read on someone after about 2 orbits. It doesn't mean its going to be 100% right but it will be way more accurate than what's generally accepted.

You can get reads of people after 5 hands, not sure why you limit your HUD to 40 hands.
I.e If they have limped even 2 hands out of 5 we could pretty much discount that he is a good player.
Sure your reads can be stronger with more info but there is sometimes some info that you can draw.
In terms of the actual spot, I think it has been covered well above. Seems like a super gross spot which I think in general means it is not going to be bad whatever you do. Except flatting obviously lol

Isn't an open jam here pretty standard with our stack <20bb? It seems like the perfect position for it. Is my thinking too spewy? I feel like we have good FE and I like the flip with 77. (77 is always the nuts on merge isn't it? lol)
OP … Is there a reason you open raised rather than just open shoved?

Thanks for the good feedback again guys. At the time I was really torn between between 4bet jam and fold. I had Mike Leah on one shoulder saying “I've got 18bbs left I can find a better spot, be patient”, and on the other shoulder had BigDogs saying “Stuff it in his grill, a double up here and we can make a run at this”. I've never been a passive player so Bigdogs won out, and it nearly paid off. It turned out to be a race, he had AQo and spiked rvr. Ho Hum…dream over for a little while longer.
As for the HUD, it was only a couple of weeks ago as a trial I set it to only come up after 40 hands with a player as I had made numerous 'bad reads / plays' based on limited Hud stats when multi tabling. This way, if I'm in a hand with a player with no HUD displayed I'm forced to take stock and think through the situation – I know we should do this anyway with HUD, but it does stop the snap decisions based on limited stats. I might drop it down to 20hands (aprox 2 orbits) and see how that goes.

Haven't read the other replies as wanted to comment first without seeing them. With less than 20 bigs I like shoving in this spot, since you don't want to invite a reship/raise with a hand that you're flipping against like KJs, A9o etc. that probably folds to your shove. I probably raise/call 99+,ATs+,AJo (even though you're still flipping against broadway hands with 99-TT) and shove 22-88 and mediocre Ax hands up to ATo.
