50 players left in yesterday’s 100k
Blinds 2000-4000

Hero is mp2 and raises to 8835 with QcKs
Folds to bb who calls
Flop
8c10c2c

Villain shoves 38k
No true reads as I was just moved to the table within the
Last two orbits

Hero has 100k to start the hand
So roughly 92k after preflop raise

Hero??

Seems like a fold.  We are either already behind, or are probably facing the Ac.  Perhaps a pair and the Ac so we could be drawing very very thin.

close, guy could be shoving with any pair there, there are certainly hands in his range which you could have 15 outs against. i think if you had the 9c rather than the 8 i would like a call better with the 4 gut shot outs to the J. probably a fold here

Think it depends a lot on what we've seen from villain in terms of blind defense and general play. There are many villains who will shy away from flatting anything but the most flop-friendly hands on this stack size, which means they won't be flatting a lot of Ax offsuit hands, and therefore will very rarely have the Ac in their range. I'm actually more concerned about the Kc at this point.

Generally I think there are some draws and overcard hands in villain's range which we're ahead of, and we have pretty good equity against a lot of their pairs, but the main issue is the size of villain's shove – I can't guess the exact pot since you didn't include info about antes, but I'm assuming the 38k shove is roughly 1.5-1.7 times the pot. That makes it a little tougher for us here, and I think I'd veer towards folding as a result. I'd probably call if the 8c was the 9c, as the above post mentions.

With 50 players left and you sitting in a good position to call, Villain has to presume he has just “some” fold equity and is not going to be overly surprised that you call.  yet, he shoves 19 BB.  There few hands I am hoping to see if I call.  So easy to let this go here and then be aware of how that might affect my image (and perhaps I can take advantage of that).
