The line my opponent took totally confused me. He only joined the table three hands ago so I have no info on him. He saw me three bet with AA one hand previous to this one.

What does he hold?

Well it can be tough knowing nothing about the player, the fact that he is 100bbs deep leaves his range pretty wide open.  At low to midstakes I'm never surprised by the hands that call my 3bets even OOP.  That being said, his river bet is screaming big value and may very well be a set.  It is hard to believe that he would ever take this line with just a 10 and a 9 seems like an unlikely hand to call your 3bet (though 10 9 definitely not out of the question).  Basically all you beat is a 10 and my feeling is that is the most unlikely pair for him to be taking this line and then betting that big on the river.  A bad player may actually throw a really small blocker bet out on the river with a 10 but even thats not likely.  Either way its a tough spot to read and hard to believe he's bluffing.  If he is in fact a big fish, then the analysis changes, but if he's decent this line is almost never a bluff, bc there isn't much to represent on this board calling a 3bet OOP.  Apologize if this isn't too solid, I'm really tired.  Hope it helps though.

He did show me the hand so I will reveal the answer soon. I looked up this guy on OPR after the game and he has very good stats.

well he bet / called pre- which leads me to believe that we can exclude QQ,KK,AA i just feel players are more likey to 4bet with those hands OOP rather then call.. The flat make it seem his range for opening the pot and calling a 3bet is 77-JJ , and AK… and since we hold JJ we can exclude those as well…

with you betting flop , villian calling then leading turn and betting river is – screaming set- or at least better then JJ – but if he did flip over QQ,KK,AA – i feel the line he took is really bad and loosing value over the long run.

so im guessing set of some sort

I actually think this is a decent line for villain to take with KK+. His turn lead is a bit small, but it looks good other than that. It depends what he percieves our 3betting range to be, but there are very few combos that beat him if we don't 3b TT and 99. XCalling flop allow him to gain a bet from our air. Leading turn and river allow him to get two more streets of value from QQ, JJ, Tx, and 9x that likely checks back one street and induces raises/shoves from straightdraws on the turn.

I never can fold a hand like JJ in such a spot vs a good BigStack player. Maybe giving often chips away, but I already saw too many strange moves on river, to let me fold the overpair. The only possible hands that are making sense here are 44/33/TT/9Ts. Thats what he tries to represent. Im not sure, but i think it makes more sense to check the river with these monster and trap you.

9 on river is a very unimportant card. I think if you bet the turn, you would go for value on such a dry river. Thats why i would check&raise the river with a boat. Since he makes this strange river lead, i wouldnt believe him. I think its very possible he called with JQs/78s. This lead looks for me too weak to fold JJ. Like if told, i think he misses value, if he lead out on such a river, if you showed such a strong line on flop&turn. I would believe 95% of all players would 3barreling this river with an overpair. Thats why i think he would check&raise with a real hand. Sorry if im wrong, but i rarely believe good players with a bigstack. Ive seen too many crazy bluffs by supernova bigstacks on Stars 😉

Im never folding in this spot donk bets deserve no respect and for good reason. It's also terrible GTO wise.  I have seen to many crazy plays from donks to fold here. If this guy does have a value hand i would think it would be pocket 44s although i don't think it the best line to take. Your line is indictive of an overpair so i had a set on this board i would go for C/C C/C C/R. If the board was more draw heavy with 2 suits i would go for a C/C C/R line and to balance this  i would check raise with some floats like QJ, 7,8, backdoor flushes, etc. Ofcourse i can always adjust my line based on my reads.

i kinda agree with pikzor although you hold jj qjs or 87s are real possibilities and if he has very big stack maybe he is making some big bluffs i dunno feels hard to fold but i could be totally wrong.
