I have the same problem with this kind of hands, overpairs too when is played like this. One thing I am trying to add in my game is to play this kind of hands like a marginal hand, they very good pre flop, but on the flop might not be that good anymore and absolutely can´t play for stacks, I mean this when you are deep and V shows he is strong, like first hand you played TPTK for your entire stack of 157.37bb, and second hand for 52.8bb.

I guess is better when we are the one making the bets and V is calling, but when they reraise is pretty awkaward to play for stacks, because we can assume they will have better hands often, if they are bluffing congratulations jejeje… Like a hand I played last week, AK on the BB, BTN limps, i raise 4x he calls, Flop A96 rainbown, ~60bb efectives, I cbet, V reraise, I should have folded, but i didn´t, i call, check turn, V shove and I call again and he show me A9o, I would feel like betting 3 streets for value was good, and try to GII OTR, but when V shows strengh we have to reconsider our hand.

Another example, of my game, first time I tried to play cash games, lets say i raise AA pre flop, a V calls, flop 369 rainbow, i cbet V reraises me, I never folded my AA in this situation, and I was losing huge on NL10 lol, most often because hands like this. I have background on STT, so there I am not folding 15bbs AA for a reraise on 369r flop, but on cash I should.

I am still strugling to do this in my game, but I hope I make some sense here, on what my point is.

Also, in the 1st hand cbet bigger, you 3bet pre I assume to build a big pot IP, half pot I think is ok, sometimes i check behind to represent an underpair… not often tow…

I saw one of Andrew´s video where he calls AK IP versus an EP raise, he said about leaving all weaker aces in V´s range and play for value from there, when you hit you win a big pot, when you lose will usually be a small pot, like when you fold for a cbet OTF. But when you win, lets say from a hand like AJ, that will be 3 street raises depending on how the board runs out, and an AJ would fold for a 3bet when deep pre flop.

On 2nd hand, I am not sure i call the bet flop from V, looks too much like a block bet, is very draw heavy, and you have to fold for a second barrel, K might be a dirty out for you, not that often  I think. When the K hit, i like a check behind OTT, I guess V would bet again a flush draw, any str8 too, I check because I don´t know how i would play OTR if a 9, T, J, Q, A or clubs hit and V shove or bet big. You may consider a fold OTR as played, if V was going to bluff, I think he would to OTT, bluffs or semi bluffs I expect V to bet turn, I also expect V to bet turn with two pairs, weird line from him.

If you use a HUD, a key difference between, say, 19/14 and 24/18 (from a range perspective) can be how many aces they play. 6% of hands have an ace, I believe. The biggest enemy of TPTK against players who play any ace? You got it: 2 pair.

Here is where I get hazier. I think you raise more pre against wider players because it’s for value. But then when you hit an ace on the flop you have to slow down because better hands won’t fold, and there are more better hands. But … there are worse hands (top pair, bad kicker) that have 3 outs to beat you as well, which will also call. Shocker: Maybe this is a math problem also.

I was then going to say that K-high flops are better for AK because you’re less likely to be up against 2 pair, but it also means you’re less likely to get called by worse. I would love to hear more on these concepts.
