I'm trying to figure out the optimal strategy for the rebuy satellites to the big tourneys on Stars, specifically the $2 and $3 turbos/2x turbos to the Million and Warm Up, and the $5.50+R turbo to the nightly 70k.
Is the wild shove-fest style incorrect? Is it optimal to buy in full (rebuy as soon as you're seated)? Do you pick your spots to get your chips in, or do you gamble it up to build a stack?
It seems like there's a crazy amount of value in these, but I haven't done as well as I think I should have…can someone outline a good strategy?
i think just approach it like any rebuy tourney. try to see as many flops as possible in the rebuy hour by flatting or limping some of the hands you may fold in a regular freezeout. try jamming your premium hands in the rebuy hour to exploit the loose play as alot people wont fold hands like 88 , 99, Aq , AJ in the rebuy period faced with a allin situation pre but they may get away from the hand on a missed flop. and dont get frustrated with the erratic play in the rebuy period as people can have any 2 at anytime. once the rebuy and addon period has passed the play should become a little more standard with the odd person still being stuck in rebuy mode. the most noticeable change in play is obv the bubble it is not like a standard money bubble where deeper stacks really take advantage its much more passive bubble where deeper stacks tend to remain comfortable and the ones near the bubble are in panic mode. and as in any rebuy tourney i suggest you always rebuy and always addon.
