I know this move is super standard because im kinda getting shortstacked and I have a  super premium, but I can never see my opponent doing this with less that AA and KK at this buy ins

I wouldnt fold preflop unless you have a read/stats that he's super nitty and hasnt 3bet in a million hands. He could still have AK or JJ. I would prolly flat his 3bet and check/ship any flop with no overs in case he has AK.

there is a limper ahead so it does make it a slightly different dynamic, makes the 3bet look stronger

“but I can never see my opponent doing this with less that AA and KK at this buy ins”

In a $5 tourny? Your kidding right? People at these stakes, and I play them every day, 3bet call all in w AJ, midpairs, KQ….

Putting villain on aces or kings because “at these stakes” people wont do that with lesser holdings is nonsense.

in general you should just 4betshove ai unless you are 100% sure villain only does this with AA/KK. Flatting the 3bet oop for 30% of your stack just sounds absurd.

In this case I can see villain having those two hands as he prolly wouldnt like to loose 1/3 of his stack with JJ or flip with AK or be dominated vs AA/KK and 3betting you after you raised a limppot oop from the sb. But he could be putting you on hands weaker than QQ like 99-JJ or AJ/AQ.

Looking at this specific situation I think it's just a hard spot to get away from and if he has it he has it.

you want to be careful with your tone, saying people's opinions are 'nonsense' and 'absurd' is only going to incite an argument. Thats not how we want this forum frown

I apologize for the way I came over in my reply. I realize that it does sounds like I'm a douchy pro wannabe, but in no way would I like to berate others in the fashion I have done. I will watch my tone in the future and be more constructive with my opinions as we are all here to help each other. So again I sincerely apologize and hope we can get a long again 🙂

no harm done my friend. I know myself how easy it is to get the tone of a post wrong and have been called out for it before. Now I tend to stick to 'i think this' and 'i would do that' rather than try and disprove anybody elses theories anymore, it is so easy to sound like a douche when doing that.

You guys covered the hand I think. One thing I want to add about the subject heading of this post. Nothing in poker is “standard” in my opinion. The table dynamics are always different and you always have to treat each hand individually. Just a thought.

Some spots are standard I believe when you are shortstacked or up against a shortstack or just set ups you cant get away from, but most indeed are not.
