Stupid spot – I get in these too where shoving seems so spewy and flatting seems so lol bad.

I know Lab Rat has pretty good results but what's his game like, Wein?

I feel like you have a tighter table image in the eyes of others than the way you really play so when you raise UTG and get flatted UGT+1 Lab shouldn't be goofing around this early and 3 betting light. I would think he flats a ton of his range like midpairs, suited connectors, and decent suited Ax hands if he decides to play them. If he plays a TAG style and sees you as tighter player I think his 3 bet range is super narrow … like JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AK … maybe some lesser pairs but then he'd be turning those into bluff hands if you 4 bet so it doesn't make sense to me to 3 bet them in position with nice implied odds.

I'm tempted to just pitch the hand because flatting sucks and I don't want to shove AKo in level 2.

Am I wrong in this philosophy? “I'd rather bust early then play for hrs and bust on the bubble or a min-cash?”

As seen, I would get pissy and fold. I am assuming at your stakes ppl realize not to get too out of line in the first 5 levels. Am I right?

lab rat is good, i don't think he is spewing this early.  IMO his range is QQ+ and AK.  I am not sure you have enough equity against that range to get it in profitably, so i may fold then go throw up.

You're UTG when you raised and he chose to 4x you so a couple of things pop into my head.

1. If we have history, does he think I am opening light as UTG is steadily becoming the new BTN so if there is a possibility he thinks I am light i think I click it back and see if he spaz's out.

2. If we have no history and I don't know anything about his game then this is a really clowny line, it is a really odd raise size and is more indicative of him wanting to scare me away than induce action so I am pretty sure I am looking at a 88-JJ, AQ, AK than anything else. It is early so you could make a case to fold to preserve you stack, but I think I lean towards gambling it a little to build a stack and open up my options a little so I think I jam it and see what he does.

All in all if we have some history I may try to use it to push a button and try to exploit a bad tendency (assuming he has any). If he is a random I think I gamble it up since I don't think I am looking at AA or KK and I am at worst flipping so I go for it.

I don't see lab rat raising like this when blinds are still this low, if this were say level 4 or 5, then maybe, just seems like this isn't a spot anybody would want to play with without a hand, especially with a flat behind.  You have to assume that he's looking to get at least one caller.
