So in SNG's especially (but also in MTT's) I see a move over and over again but don't know what it's called. If anyone knows what this move is called please let me know. It's simple, everyone folds to the Small Blind who limp-completes the blind. The BB checks his option. The flop comes and the SB min bets. Obviously it's usually a steal that was waiting until the flop to make it's move. This move avoids having to raise preflop and then cbet a missed flop. The SB assumes we'll miss the flop or won't call with bottom pair, or maybe that the SB has a monster so BB folds. I see this move a lot when the SB has more chips than the BB. Basically the SB is stealing postflop rather than preflop and just playing the odds that we'll fold our BB postflop. What's this move called???

I believe its called the Ol' Limp stab.

It has origins in Latin as Ageus LimpiStabum.

Hope this helps.

Ugh, blast those crafty Roman scum yell. Ok, so thanks, at least now I have a name to call this annoying little move, which btw I'll start to use myself laugh. One more question though: Do we only call it the 'Limp-Stab' if it's SB vs. BB? What if it's CO vs. BB or some other position vs. BB, does the name change? I only ask for when I'm doing research on specific plays. Thanks
