Hey Benny
Hmm, tough one, Competent reg shoving UTG but really has no choice, only 4 BBs and posting blinds next hand. He knows he can't let the blinds go through him again.
I think this has to be a iso shove. You have so much equity against his shoving range here. Only worried about a higher pair. Hmm, I think I shove.

I wasn’t really worried about a higher pair, because as you say a good reg should shove just about any 2 here. It’s just that we are flipping and if we lose we are right back in the pack with 11bb
Pure equity wise I think it is a shove. not sure though if you consider ICM. In any case you are 2/7 but you only have 16 BBs, so dropping to 11 doesn't really kill your fold equity IMO
But lets consider stacks: Chip leader has 23 BBs or so you and 2 more around 15 and 3 stacks of less than 7. so your few extra BBs might help you move to 4th place safely, so you need to decide are you going for 1st or 7th or are happy with 4th and simply go super tight (you and I know what Big Dog would think of this strategy….)
but we also need to think of the 2 people behind us that might wake up with a hand. all taht said I am taking the aggresive route and shoving, hopefully the 2 people beinhd me fold and I have a shot at pretty easy chips, heck you might even be a 70-30 fav if the guy has A4o or something

thanks for the replies guys.
at the time i snap shoved and lost a flip against Q9, and i was like meh, but then a few minutes after, i just started thinking whether i really needed to do that when icm is taken into consideration. i would have been much happier with something like KT here instead of 66, just for the fact that its now likely a 60-40 rather than a flip
i would be iso shoving the 66 all day against a short stacked reg under the gun in that spot, 44 and 55 is closer and would fold 22 and 33. Regs in that spot will be shoving a very wide range… ace rags, k2s+, q3s+ ect so you will be getting it in as a favourite most of the time.
