I'm calling here,  do u have any stats or reads on the villain and what ur perceived image is? Floating you're c-bet on a pretty safe board then you checking the turn is showing weakness so i'd think this pot size shove is bluffing enough times for a call. Would he not 3-bet pre with JJ or QQ but could have a set or KK or AA?

I'm snapcalling and fistpump & high-five everyone within reach while doing so. You have 23BB pre and an overpair post, no need to herofold. Especially since your range looks very weak after checking turn.

I'm guessing you called, he showed AA for a trap and you are now doubting your play.

I bet a bit bigger on the flop and shove the turn. Don't check and give a free card!

Agreed. This is one of many spots where Villain's calling range will be wider than his betting range. If you're going to get it in anyway, best in these cases to do the betting yourself rather than leaving it up to him whether he wants to put the money in. Only exception would be if you suspect Villain of floating and want to induce a turn bluff, but this doesn't seem like the spot for that.

are we going to get called with worse if we were to shove making our jacks a bluff? he might call with TT but can't really see anything else that we have beat

It's not only a matter of getting called by worse but also of protecting our hand. Villain can easily float us here with AT+, KT+, QT+ and JT just to see what we do on the turn. He might have some hands with decent float equity like T9, A7-A9. You also have to factor in the FPS where people just watched an episode of the WPT and now want to pull off some fancy Gus Hansen move.

There is just too much stuff in villain's range that is calling the flop but still behind of JJ. If villain has QQ-AA or outflopped us with 77-88 then it was a cooler anyway and he deserves our chips.

I'm not saying that we should shove the turn and pray for a snapcall. But we can't let a free card roll off with such a good but vulnerable hand that shallow and such a low SPR.

Your turn check looks like a Cbet and give up with A high type hand.  Is he really jamming for value with a hand that has you beat once you check?  Probably not IMO.  He may have hit the board with a pair and some type of draw that has equity and now wants to protect it and take a large pot down but has outs if called.  Don't think I would have seen any value in checking the turn given the stack sizes.  Might have considered going for check raise on the flop.
