Here's a hand from a micro i played today… before you see the hand, my thinking was,”i'm priced in… but there is more than likely a way higher kicker than mine, and should i lose, i'm reduced solely to shove mode.”

Poker Stars $0.50+$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t300/t600 Blinds + t50 – 9 players
TournamentPokerEdge.com Hand History Converter

dukebush (BTN): BB = 8.6, t5150
p1ar (SB): BB = 2.2, t1328
Hero (BB): BB = 18.2, t10925
harleysbest (UTG): BB = 4.8, t2850
mite83 (UTG+1): BB = 19.1, t11454
lukasino72 (UTG+2): BB = 33.4, t20050
vadamm (MP1): BB = 41.4, t24830
Mamoru007 (MP2): BB = 4.9, t2950
donkchoker (CO): BB = 9.3, t5575

Pre Flop: (t1350) Hero is BB with 7 of clubs A of diamonds
harleysbest raises to t2800 all in, 3 folds, Mamoru007 raises to t2900 all in, donkchoker calls t2900, 1 fold, p1ar calls t978 all in, 1 fold

Flop: (t10928) 7 of hearts 7 of spades 6 of diamonds (4 players – 3 are all in)

Turn: (t10928) 7 of diamonds (4 players – 3 are all in)

River: (t10928) 8 of spades (4 players – 3 are all in)

After the hand i'm kicking myself in the ass repeatedly. But was i being results oriented – or was i correct in the priced-in math part and was supposed to shove????

nah 100% fold this, you made the right play. dont even question it, very results oriented thinking.

it is nice to hit quads though.

Thanks benny. I'm glad I made the right decision. For a minute there, I was t-r-i-p-p-i-n-g! I knew people were shoving light and had been all tourney, but FOUR shovers! I was getting like 5.5-to-1 to call and that's what was really giving me pause to think as I looked at the pot and thought about the opponents shoving.

just think, what if one of them had 88 and another had AK, then your A7 is about as dead as you can get, save for ripping out quads of course 😀

agree with benny

clear fold

5:1 or whatever it was 5 way action and you were crushed against their ranges pre – esp the guy in c/o who flats for half his stack

good fold

Sounds like the matter is pretty much settled. Thanks for the replies.
