This kind of situation happens in tournies a lot. I know I am ahead, but close to coin flip usually, sometimes, I even can dominate him. However, if I lose this hand, I probably will out of tourney pretty shortly.

Should I make such tourney life calls? Plus it is a big shove, 13BB shove.

The_dean211 goes very luckily later on. I guess he will win the tourney.

yeah, the dean won the game.

watch him play a few hands. BvB, he shoves 22 from sb, and get called by aqo

button raises, he shoves 44, get called by aqo.

I still do not know whether I should call his allin though.

You have 22 bigs so your not hurting just yet, his shove from the Co is certainly wide but you only dominate 22,33,44  your flipping or crushed by everything else.  I like the 55 in LP first to act but in this hand we are calling not shoving so FE is out the window.  I pass on this spot even though its probably +EV.

he can shove with ace crap also, such as a2, a3, a5, or k2s, k3s, k5s. I rarely think he will dominate me, he should shove any broadway, 9to, 9jo, 89o there. Most time I am fliping there, sometimes I can get lucky to dominate him.

Yeah, it is pretty crappy situation, if he has only 10 BB , it should be automatical call. As you point out, maybe it should be a fold, since I have 22BB at that time.

In that tourney, I saw btn shove 12 BB with q7s, BB calls with A4s also. Guess those are just marginal spot. If I can get lucky, I go deep, if not, I go busto.

Remember one time, Btn shoves 15BB , I call with a7o in SB. Btn has aqo.

Another time, Co shoves 15bb with q8o, I call with a7o from btn, I win that flip, and win the tourney in the end.

Hi, I'm going to move to MTT strategy as this is mostly a hand question.  Also not to harp but it's best if we don't give results out with the hand because it definitely taints the analysis by knowing what happened.

I'm snap calling a 13 bb shove from The_Dean221 with 55.

He's a pretty good MTT reg and is definitely shoving wide here under the assumption that plays with lesser experience will tighten up and fold hands they should call with.

Thanks, man.

55 is good enough for calling his allin. ——-> I bet it should be a good call.

However, if I lose this hand, I am pretty much out of the tourney also.
As JDOG1645 point out, it is close call. Because I can fold, still get 20BB, plenty room to play, but maybe only 3bet shove on light opens.

IMO the bottom line is we are almost always flipping at best here for half our stack. If you feel based on what you know about the player and the structure and your table that your going to have to take these types of chances to go deep then its a call and we are off to the races. If you think you have an edge on the table and can pick up chips beating on the blinds then maybe we dont want to race just yet. I dont hate doing either or here.

+1…. I'm snap calling most shoves from CO with 13BB, unless he's allowed himself to blind down from 25. I think easy call. +ev call, just sucks when we dont get the instant reward.

You gotta pick up chips…this spot seems a bit shotty but you are flipping or 65/35, 60/40….You gotta win a few flips to win a tourney and imo I am going for the win.

i dont hate fold here but its also time to get a move on yourself, the thing is that your not ahead of much and are most likely raceing and could very well be dominated but prolly not this is a very close spot and really going either way fold/ship is fine.

Totally agree……pretty sure this is borderline and neither fold/ship is bad…..I'd probably lean towards ship but it's pretty close
