Pokerstars.Fr SCOOP 100 euro buyin, 3601 runners, 51k euro ftw, i'm currently 2/79.

This is only my 3rd tourney on ps.fr so don't know the players very well.  The table seems generally soft, with the guy who's 2nd in chips and wins this pot probably the most competent player at the table.

When he 4 bets me my initial reaction was that he had me beat and then I thought maybe just flat his raise.  However, i've got almost double his chip stack and figure I should put pressure on him rather than play the hand in a scared manner.  I also have enough chips to 5-bet fold.

Considering the size of the stack I had in this tourney, could I have waited rather than risk doubling up a good player and seriously damaging my own stack.  Unfortunately 6 hands later I lost another big pot with KK < AA, that hand played itself though.

What would you have done in this position?

i cant get away from this cooler unless i have special information about the player. (tight nitish stats, lil to none ep opens, low 3b stats)

especially on ps.fr cause there are so many spewtards

and we still have a playable stack if we lose.

but i would prefer a clickback instead of the all in (but that ofcourse wouldnt change the outcome) cause hands that we beat can fold to an allin where he would often shove those on your clickback.

Thanks for the comments.  I did consider the clickback, but he'd just started opening up a bit and playing a few hands – I thought if I put max pressure on here (and he had a hand that had to fold) it might make him sit back a bit in future hands and therefore mean I could start 3 betting him lighter.

IDK, to me, 46BB is way too much to get into the middle preflop with QQ. You are SO deep and have a huge advantage over the rest of the field. I would probably flat pre, looking to keep in hands I am going to be ahead of. Shoving 46bb, the only people that will call is hands that have you crushed or are flipping agianst. No need to risk half your stack here.

Shortstack that is what I think, but thought maybe I was being results oriented which is why I was interested to know what others thought. Sorry but what does IDK mean?

i prob flat because of the stacks behind to set up a trap.

as played i def flat the 4bet and take it from there.

if the board comes Axx high i probably turn my hand into a bluff if he checks to me  because then its so much more likely that he has KK then AK or AA.

if he bets, i def call one and take it from there.

cheers

When villain 4 bets with both of you in early position, I have to assume you are behind his range.  If he's playing JJ+,AQs+,AKo you are a bit behind, and honestly I think QQ+, AK is more likely in this spot.  Remember, this player is good and the 2nd biggest stack at the table.  He is not going to confront the only player that can knock him out OOP for no reason.

I like flatting the original raise due to all the shoving stacks left to act, but flatting the 4 bet seems fine too.

His 4 bet sizing looks so nutted in terms of sizing and position at the table. I probably take a flop as folding feels too weak and go from there.

I really don't think JJ and worse 4 bet us frequently enough to keep that in their range unless we have history with villain, or we've seen him do it at this table.
