V had started slowly but become very active in the last few orbits and had taken down a number of pots stealing the blinds or with c-bets on the flop.

best thing to do in these spots is to try and put villain on a range, then plug that into stove and see what you get.
usually these spots you are just about flipping
i dont know if he plays JJ or worse this way, so really we are kind of hoping for AK?
Kind of feel like we can safely fold here and just move on this deep knowing that we likely have an edge on the field. If I were 10 tabling i might just jack it in, but I doubt its 100% right.
is your intention with your 3 bet to build a pot or find out where your at? villain is never 4 bet jamming JJ here so there 4 bet tells me that your crushed or your flipping it coulkd be AQ but most likely not so i would ditch and move on, villain most likely just puts in AA or KK here because this early he may think whats he 3 betting me with that hes folding this early

is it too passive just to flat pre? that way we get to play against the whole of UTG's raising range, which we are ahead of, and we could also possibly get a squeeze from someone behind which we are usually ahead of too?

Always a thought but I dont think you get a squeeze behind often, more likely to get a couple more flatters then you are playing oop and kicking yourself when a random A or K flops or someone binks a set.
