Hi all,
New TPE member first post, interested to pick some brains in some pretty marginal spots to start,
Tourney is a €10 rebuy €5000 gtd on ipoker €1300 up top €48 min cash 27 paid currently 43/45
We have 13.6k before the hand, 10min blinds @ 700/1400 with a 140 ante, 2 minutes left on the level.
In the big blind we are dealt Q6os, it folds round to the sb who has a pretty much identical stack to ours, not too much info on the player other than the fact hes a reg who is relatively balanced and knows his general shove/call ranges etc. We are by far too shortest stacks at the table.
The sb shoves after 2-3 seconds, IMO this is such a close spot for me, if i put myself in the sb position i would be shoving pretty much shoving any2 knowing that the bb can/should only be calling with a pretty tight range for his tournament life and i believe that he going to fold ahuge % of the time when applying this pressure.
This was sort of my immediate thought process when the hand played out, obviously in real time im multi-tableing dont have as much time to go too deeply into the hand but the spot has stuck in my head trying to work out if its a call or a fold 'generally' against this type of player, the Q6 on first glance looks pretty innocuous but thinking deeper into it can be so far ahead of a lot of his shoving range.
Be interested to hear other players thoughts whilst to analyze this spot……. I think if u look at it from a basic level its pretty standard fold and look for better spot but im trying to think 'outside the box' here, We are desperate to find a spot to double and with the blinds just about to increase rapidly running out of fold equity waiting for a hand to shove, or am i thinking too deeply into it? im not sure, opinions please…
Thanks

I don't think Q6o will be far ahead of his shoving range often. I think you will be somewhere in the 60:40 range, which is ok. The thing is you lose your fold equity.
I know I'd fold most of the time, especially if there are players behind me that I consider to be too tight. With your stack you should have FE for one more orbit, so I'd love to see a few more hands and hope to either put it in good or get some villains to fold a better hand.

Folding with 60% equity here would be a disaster. You don't need fold equity when you have the best hand, and you don't even need the best hand when there's already a lot of money in the pot.
