Hey. Tried my first big live event. 1500 nl. I’m into day 2 with 16 bbs, 14 from the money. Do your raising ranges change live? How does icm factor in? Can I raise fold or should I just be raising hands that I’ll be calling shoves with? Any advice is appreciated. I’m a little star struck with all these wizards and pros at my tables. Thanks

You can def raise fold, but be careful of whose BB you are opening into(the nittier the better).  For the most part, i would be looking for a reship spot or just an open rip tho.  I wouldnt pay attention to ICM until later in the tournament, just continue to play to win.  Take 5 seconds on each hand and really think out every spot.  GL to you!

What's the average stack?  The farther below average you are, the more you should care about min-cashing.  You should still mostly be going for chip EV, but you can make some adjustments if you are very unlikely to get beyond a min-cash.

Thanks guys. Ended up doubling early, then reraise shoving to keep around 15 bbs for most of day. Finally busted 96th with AKss<qq. Fun tourney loaded with wizards and live pros though.

Nice! Congrats on cashing in your first big price live tourney. Remember, all those pros and wizards played their first tourney and hand of poker just like you did.

Im flying in to Vegas tomorrow and will be playing the VDSE 1100 on Tuesday and the Monster stack on Thursday. Stoked!
