Hey Hey

reads – V is terrible , there sizing pre is MASSIVE!

does anyone think shoving pre is ev+? I know we don't have fold equity but given how short vs a wide range of hands we're going to have decent equity and i'm guessing its profitable.

cheers.

One of the videos here says bad players have more naked aces in their range. So even though he probably has a super-wide range that you're likely 60% against, he will have A8+ more often than he should.

I think he calls with 66-88, non-ace broadways, A8-AJ and A2s-A9s. (His range is capped if he limped but usually sizes poorly pre.) So then it's just a math problem. But you have 9 bigs, and you need to get chips somehow. Your other option is to hope to open with something better, but in the next 3 hands before the blinds, even if you get another hand like this, you then have to dodge more people, and you still don't have fold equity.

maybe you mean if someone limps we don't have any fold equity in the next few hands?

I'm still learning how to tell what types of stacks have FE. I know live that a shorter stack has more FE than online because it is easier to click a button.

The other thing I said is the earlier in position you shove, the more hands you have to get through to take the pot down. If players' calling range is wider vs. an 8BB shove than a 15BB shove, you're much more likely to run into a hand that will call you.
