Hi

Sorry I don't have a hand for this question.But, I would like to know if its profitable  to call SB shove with 22 in the following situations.

– under 10BB, Im calling always( is it profitable?)

->10BB <15BB, Its marginal. I might call in 180 man's to a reg, might fold in a MTT

->20BB Im always folding.

I put the SB as a regular shoving 50% of his range. When I put this in pokerstove, the equity with 22 in ~48%. Pre antes is a fold definately, but when is calling with 22 post antes and with what pot odds is it a profitable call?

What is the minimum odds should I be getting to make the call?

Thank you!

below 10bb it's a call for sure , as for 10-15 it really does depend , it's still a profitable call. However if you think your opponent is on the sb is on the tighter side u may decide to pass it up or for instance if your on a tough table you may decide to make the call and take a flip , as its still ev+ to call.

When you have around 20bb or above, I'd fold , rather call with a hand like KTs since we have better equity vs sb shoving range.

Thank you for the reply.

Im just a bit concerned about the math, is flipping with Sb's 50% shoving range against my 22 is a profitable call in the long run.

The equity is ~48%, so is it a +ev in the longer run?( I know it does change according to the table dynamics and spots)

Thank you!

yeah it's profitable in the long run , no matter how wide/tight they shove from the Sb, you will still make money either way.

The math's i'm not to sure off , for instance to figure how much chips we make by making this call.

what i will suggest to you though is , to check out icmizer, it's a great tool which caculates shoving/calling ranges and shows you if its profitable to shove/calll which hands you may 3-bet/c with and stuff like that.

I actually just got a subscription for it and they gave me a code to give to a friend which allows you to use it for 1 week. So if your intrested just send me a message on here and i'll send you the code. 🙂
