I played a $44 turbo rush on sunday and was able to get 6th for $1550.  I also played a $11 135man tourny last night and very easily made the FT although shortstacked after loosing a standard sb V. bb spot.  Has any one else tried these?  They seem to be veerrrrrryyyy +EV.  With the Rush factor you can see so many hands you can really afford to sit back and wait for really good spots.  I would highly suggest these as a way to make some easy $$$.

my roommate (destiniunbound from my first video) has been grinding these with good results. pretty sure he’s made ~5FTs or something.

i’ve been out of town, so haven’t really talked with him about his strategy or how the tourneys are structured. i play a decent amount of ring game rush poker and my approach is to 4-table and just play solid ABC poker and do it as much for the rakeback as anything else (~$30/hour 4tabling at 200NL full ring). i find that the lack of reads/history combined with my desire to get in as many hands as possible for the rakeback make the very straightforward approach the best.

however, in a tournament, especially as you get down to fewer and fewer players and you begin to actually have history with other players that the strategy begins to be the same as a regular tournament?

i’m not sure, but i’m going to start looking to mix these into my schedule and see how they play and check back with this thead after.

yeah, ABC poker will get you really far, I find that most of the players dont take into account just how many hands they can see and thus are playing too fast and busting when its not really necessary.  It is a turbo they have either 3 or 6 min blinds, but if you fold as fast as you can you can prolly see anywhere between 3x to 5x the normal amount of hands, maybe even way more.

crazy i have tryed the rush cash games and they are fast and you can see alot of hands. although in a turbo tourney playing abc poker i wonder how the math works out for the prize structure ect, if its really long term +ev to play tighter. i havent tryed any but i wonder multis are still very top heavy and i would think playing a volume of them it would be -ev to be not being aggresive in some spots just my thoughts. i havent played any nor have i seen the structure so i really couldnt say. just a thought i guess .
