the way he flatted turn looked like maybe just a set – didn't think draw would call turn raise there.

only hands u lose to are 910 and 59. dont think he's flatting turn raise with sets. i think he reraises or shoves on drwy board with a set. ur up against FD two pr type hands or str8 drw. no FD got there, all two pr type hands u beat but a 910 str8 and a 59 str8 got there which u lose too. ur call is profitable altho my thougts are that u lost the hand to 9 10

Note: flat turn there.  by raising ur giving him a chance to blow u off ur drw by shoving all in which we can not call.

I call him here and feel pretty good about my chances of taking this down. Limped pots are hard to tell where you stand and 9T is in a lot of limping ranges, but there are a lot of limped 2 pair hands that connect (Kx type hands come to mind). I think you can call here and be okay long term. I agree with Bjizz, the raise on the turn has the potential to put you in a really gross spot. I think i just call down here. I also think that if you didn't raise the turn you may not have been shoved on the river.

Yeah, if he's a decent player I think 9T shows up here a ton. He shows absolutely no sign of aggression in the hand and then shoves into 2 people once the straight draw fills.

I think you're chopping or losing to a higher straight 99% of the time.

I'm calling as well and if he had T9 so be it.  I don't think he would open shove here on the river with the nuts but I could be wrong.  I also agree that I don't raise turn as it could get you in a real sticky spot.

I think I just flat the turn since a shove over our raise will make us fold a hand that can improve. On the river I think I have to call, although what is he shoving twice pot that we beat? Have you seen nelosc6 play particularly bad? Has he shoved twice pot before? I think his river bet is a missed flush draw, a set or two pair, which doesn't know how to get value on the river. Of course T9 is a possibility, especially if he's trying his best to make the river look like a complete bluff… if he has a missed flush draw and now there are three cards in a row he might think this is a perfect spot for a bluff and jam all his chips in.

i kinda think the turn raise is sexy……but i guess i am the only onecry  I like it because we picked up lots of equity on the turn, and it disguises our hand if we hit, as you rarely see people raise the turn with draws, which leads us to believably being able to bluff a lot of river cards when we miss, and make a bluff that is a sizable portion of the villan's chip stack.  I can see him folding hands like KQ to a big river bet if we raise turn here and something besides a K or a Q peels river.  Also I doubt he takes this line with sets, so I wouldn't be afraid of bluffing into those.  IDK, when I was looking at this hand history and saw him raise turn i was like damn…..that was pretty sexy.wink

Agree. I'm always raising the turn in brent's spot there.

I tanked for some time and said FML he has T9….  i adventually called and he showed Ts9h.  Feel like it the 6h or Jh rolls off he doing the same move here and i win a big pot.  The shitty part is I feel I win this hand 75% when I blank rolls off too and I get to bluff it.  If he doesn't make the nuts there is really no cards that roll he can call my river bluff with.  There where only 3 cards in deck that locked me in.

I also do feel that at this level of poker people are without question flatting to “slow play” a set.
