Villain has been pretty tight.  I normally fold KQo vs a tight UTG but marginally call KQs.

I turn the bomb and when he checks I assume he's got a mid pair and I'm looking for max value.  I decide to check behind because I think we only get 1 street max here and that street would most likely come on the river.  he probably folds to a turn bet.

So, with that in mind what size do we make the river bet here?

I think checking the turn was a good idea….unless he is a good thinking player, your turn check probably confused him (of course TPE members can see right though it…lol). I think depeding on the player type, you bet either a nice small amount (like 1/3 pot) or a big bet (3/4 pot'sh) to look like a bluff. I find some players can't lay down to small bets as they just have to see, but others will see through that as a clear value bet and fold. Other players see big river bets as a scare tactic and can't lay that down.

So to answer your question with a non-answer….it depends. You say he's tight….so smaller value bet might be more appropriate here.

sometimes i bet pot here and try to make it look like your bluffing on mised gutter or AQ AJ and only if you think he will fold to value but look you up if he thinks your bluffing. its crazy how often im getting paid off making crazy river bets when i have the goods. maybe he will pay you with 10 10 0r QQ.

Personally I think I bet turn. If he has a hand like JJ he is just gonna think your betting because he showed some weakness and is calling. Which allows you to build the pot for a bigger river bet. Having said that as played bet 75 percent of the pot take it down and move on.

I guess what we're thinking here with betting the turn is that the 2nd K coming makes it even more likely i'm FOS?  So my check back to get one more street would be more applicable if the turn was a blank?
