Hi,

Was playing a 45 man on stars last night , were about half way through .

Blinds were 100/200 , my Stack is 2830

Im in the SB with AKos

All fold round to the CO who raises 3x, folds to me

Villain seemed to be playing fairly solid ABC , was active , but not aggro , I was certain they had some sort of hand.

Should I just be getting my chips in here , considering my stack size ?

When you know the villain is ABC and has some sort of hand , what should you be doing when you have say 20bb or more ?

Any insights on how to play AK  gratefully received ! 🙂

thanks

i would be stuffing my chips in his  face all the way up to about 25bb. after that i would 3bet and call a shove.

thanks , I did stuff my chips in his face 🙂 , was flipping against JJ which I lost..

Im just wondering at what point do we not get all our chips in ? , if its really early in a tourney and we have 50bb's or more and we 3 bet and are shoved on and we have no real info on the opponent ? , would you ever fold this ?, or do you treat it like  a do-or-die hand ?

Try and get it all in preflop pretty much all the time in these 45 mans. Your never deep enough to make a 'standard' fold preflop with AK. Unless your in a rediculously unusual situation, say 100bb deep on a final table against another bigger stack with other tiny stacks around… if you get the idea.

yep i'd break my arm getting it in here too

g0liaths right about 9, 18 and 45 mans never really being deep enough to play any other way

in excess of something like 40bb's you could 3bet to induce if you think villain is lag enough but every other time just jam it

you're getting it in here for value. even a tight player is opening stuff like A9-AQ, AXs, broadway hands, some SCs from the CO. And with your stack he'll be calling plenty of worse hands plus a bunch of stuff you have great equity against.
