Well I guess depending on your preflop read on your opponent either push or fold pre.

I hate the shove on the flop…he has almost half his stack in the hand and he leads on a rag board….he is never folding here.

This isn't a donk lead. It's a c-bet by the original raiser.

Fold pre and if not then fold to c-bet. But fold pre or shove pre if you think he's opening super light.

He is never folding here, and you have no pair and no draw (on the flop).

I say fold pre.

No way i get involved with this hand for that much of my stack, but that aside I have a question about your shove response on the flop: What is the aim of the shove?

I agree that flatting the raise in position can be a sign of strength, but you are totally naked here with that move and if he has caught any part of that flop are you really going to chase him away? I think you opened yourself up to a huge risk here with very little reward. This could be a pretty serious leak if you get yourself into a habit of trying to blow people off of pots. I would be very careful about doing this in the future without a significant read or history.

This statement needs to be qualified a little bit.

With stacks so shallow these statements are 100% correct.

If, however, both of you are deep stacked it could be a leak to not flat in position with the intention to play better post-flop poker.

But yeah … he makes a standard open for 14 bb's. Unless he's a total halfwit he will always have a decent hand here and a c-bet is basically committing himself.

I also want to make sure your subject line was a typo and that you do indeed know the difference between a donk lead and c-bet. It's only a donk lead if you were the one to open the pot pre and then he led into you as first to act.
