My opinion: Icallany has QQ+,AK

rdcrsn's 3bet range 99+,AQs+ (this would be my 3bet range given SS behind us and EP raiser) so i doubt he's 3betting light here

rdcrsn's 4bet call then fold to flop range: exactly 99 and AQs+

This guy prolly shouldnt have flatted pre unless he wants to get it in on almost any flop imo

He's not getting the right price to set mine with all of his pairs and is essentially flop dependent with AQ and AK

im sure there's more meta game then hand value plays going on here. Not sure we could understand whats going on without understanding the table dynamic and their history. Im pretty sure theyre trying to level one another here

Yeah, Russel Carson's in a great spot to 3betbluff an ep opener in mp and the button prolly knows this and might 4bet Russel light here. Russel might flat oop w hands as 'weak' as QJs, TJs or mid pairs as the 4better might be making a move w SC's, any pair, any ace…

These guys are in a whole other league and as mentioned table dynamics and history between the players is vital for flatting a cold 4bet oop. If they have a lot of history together Russel's flat could be light. But he could be flatting AA/KK and doesnt want to scare away worse hands and wants the 4better to keep betting. Because if Russel 5bets ai here the 4better might make the tough fold or give up the bluff.

Here's a hand from the 10K SCOOP ME, it shows these guys are just crazy.

Poker Stars $10000+$300 No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t6000/t12000 Blinds + t1500 – 7 players
TournamentPokerEdge.com Hand History Converter

danskemann (CO): BB = 53.2, t638370
810ofclubs (BTN): BB = 33.8, t405083
Lrslzk (SB): BB = 68.6, t823281
GotURead (BB): BB = 22.9, t274557
StigR (UTG): BB = 34.3, t411591
altiFC (UTG+1): BB = 19.0, t228364
Tagult (MP): BB = 84.9, t1018754

Pre Flop: (t28500)
StigR raises to t24000, 2 folds, danskemann raises to t41900, 3 folds, StigR calls t17900

Flop: (t112300) 3 of clubs 2 of clubs Q of diamonds (2 players)
StigR checks, danskemann checks

What makes this spot so great? Can you explain your thought process like you would try to explain it to your mom, please? 🙂

I am trying to improve my openings and my 3 betting, so i am thinking about this things all the time lately.

I have no problems understanding this hand. There is a lot going on in a 10k SCOOP ME and they are deeper.

In your HH, utg+1 opens in ep which would imply that he has a strong hand. Now Russel 3bets him in the next seat which would imply that he is 3betting a very strong range with possibly an even stronger hand with still 5 players left to act behind him. Now he could be holding a monster, but he could be doing this w lesser holdings aswell. The button could be aware of the fact that Russel could be repping huge strenght by 3betting in that spot, so the button could cold 4bet light in order to take the pot down preflop.

Now in this case w the stack sizes as they are, they prolly should both have a strong hand and how Russel flats the cold 4bet oop for nearly half his stack and c/f on the flop puzzles me.

I just realized by taking a better look at the stacks that neither of the players should be light here being nearly potcommited here. But if you look at the SCOOP ME, the two players are only 34bb effectively deep and hero opened 57s utg and flatted a 3bet oop and donkbet the turn and river for a complete bluff leaving himself only 15bb after his riverbet.

It's just poker at the highest level which would mainly work in high buy-in tournaments were players are making moves on players who are making moves themselves.

So if your railing these high stakes players, dont try to copy too much from them to aply those moves in the micro stakes because they simply wont work most of the time as you'll prolly level yourself.

Thank you very much. Yeah it's becoming a problem to me. I level myself way too often recently.

Danskemann had 88. I saw it in the replay. Btw, it would be really great if someone of the TPE pro's would make a video of the SCOOP FT ME from the replay (all holecards exposed) and comment it. Maybe some other low buyin events too.

88 seems like a tight fold w just one over on the board but utg's range was polarized and had over half his stack in the pot, so I guess 88 didnt think utg was bluffing in that spot.
