Hello, this is a hand I played in a live $365 circuit event where I turned a good draw, got led into, raised small and then folded when he 3bet shoved.
150-300 25A level
guy limps (eratic player) I raise JTs to 900, bb calls, limper calls
Flop: Q66 check, check, I bet 1200, bb calls
Turn: 8 (I pick up club draw) bb bets 2400, I raise to 5500, he shoves all in covering me and I fold left with 8600 in my stack
Is my turn raise here a reasonable play or am I just risking my equity since he might shove? Is my sizing too large, since I end up folding my hand? Should I be calling here getting about 3 to 1 (vs QJ here I am 25% to win so I didn't think it was worth making a break even play that risks my stack?)?
This is the first hand I have ever posted in a forum. I realize there are customs to these things so any advice on ways to make my post better would be great! Or maybe you will just like the way I did it, thanks!

I'm kinda new here as well, but this is my view on it.
He probably got a 6 (maybe Q) here and is trying to get rid of drawing hands, such as yours. 2400 in a pot of 5100(?) is a cheap price to see a river on you flushdraw and gutshot. If you had overcards I miiiight see the raise, but don't know why you would raise there.

Hi, welcome to the forums.
Before you raise, you should think about how you expect your opponent to respond with different parts of his range. Given the stack sizes here, I'd expect Villain to fold his weakest hands, jam everything else, and rarely call. So yes, I do think you're wasting a good draw here, because either he folds and your cards don't matter or he shoves and you fold and your cards don't matter. I'd rather call with this hand and raise-fold hands with less equity, such as Jd Td.

Big blind was mid 20s guy dressed nicely but played significantly tighter than his looks would suggest. This supports Foucault’s suggestion that the guy is folding his weakest hands. I remember thinking that he was likely going to fold to my raise, mucking hands such as pocket pairs under Q, an 8 or maybe even a Queen. Nevertheless of course it was frustrating to turn so much equity and not see the river.
If any, what situations can you all think of where you would make this play (raise-fold a turned draw vs donk bet) with these stack sizes?
Thank you everyone for your responses.
