I have been finding it difficult to play the button, unless i have super premium hands, because it seems that sb/bb always assume the button raise is a bluff/blind steal, so they end up shoving.
How do you guys counteract very aggressive players in the blinds? Especially when the blinds are big enough that most ppl have a stack of 15-20bb.
One technique i've had moderately success with is just flat calling on the button, and then basing my play off of the flop/action, however this means I can't take down the blinds uncontested.
The stakes I've been playing at are low to medium mtt, and I use a hud so I access to stats.
My question is, what do you do on the button with a mediocre hand such as a9, kj, 10 q suited, etc, when everyones flolded around to you.
Does anyone have any tips/suggestions?

if they are the type of player that is going to shove on you, there are two options – call them down lighter than what you otherwise would, i.e A9 is probably way ahead of their shoving range so if you are raise-folding this then its a leak.
But if you have a hand like QT that has value but you cant really call a shove, then it might be best to just fold and preserve your stack.
The third option, if both blinds have <20bb, is just to shove yourself, thereby taking the play away from them. This is obviously higher variance but it can work very well, especially near the bubble or pay jumps. that way you take the resteal play away from them.
Well its interesting because Ive been checking for leaks the last few days, and have been messing with a lot of filters. Ive come to find out that on the Merge network it is clearly not profitable shoving any 2 anymore blind vs blind, shoving out of the sb. Not even close. With over 120k hands and a sample of 254 hands heres the numbers.( 261 hands ) (-235,514) ) (-16.48 per 100)…And then i adjust filter putting in any 2 broadways any ace ten down suited or unsuited. leaving out aj and up an any pair, and get this..(100 hands) (+512,756) (+30.08 per 100). And .here is the silliest shit of them all. So i keep the same filter as the last but add the aj and up, plus kk and aa, and the numbers go down. (133 hands) (+23.02 per 100). And just if your were wondering here is the pocket pairs..the hand sample is small, but still staggering.. (42 hands) (+872,622) (327bbs per 100)…i had an awesome october winning 5 guarantees on the merge, and immediately started my withdraw process, and withdrew 6k..i immediately after have experienced some of the worst variance ever. Someone please make some sense of all this for me.! Thanks and gl at the tables. i hope some of this helps. and any thoughts i'd appreciate! peace in the east..

Thanks for the informative post.
Looks like you're suffering from the withdrawing cruse. I've definitely have times thatr I felt I was cursed because I had just cashed out a large portion of my bankroll..only thing you can do is play through it and suck up the bad beats. You just have to remember to play at your best and eventually things will come around.
