Questions about final table play

Sup TPE, just got a few questions.  I have really hit my stride playing holdem.  I set a goal to play 1k $1.10 OD Rush Tourneys on tilt and am doing very well in them.  However, I think my final table play might be suffering as out of 200 tourneys I have made 8 final tables but only 1 1st and 1 3rd aswell as a 10th, 12th.  I have 2 7ths and 3 6ths and 1 4th…its very frustrating as I know I should have atleast 1-2 more top 3 finishes but idk maybe its just variance?

My basic FT strategy is to play it like a single table sitngo for the most part.  However, usually at first theres 3 or so small stacks less then 10bb so I play pretty tight as I make money by letting these guys bust out.  However, it seems that every time a short stack pushes they double up.. so I end up blinding down to 15bb or so.  I am afraid I might not be calling correctly..I still shove correctly I think.  Button/CO I shove any ace, K9s+ Q10s+, 55+ but I am afraid to call w/o a very strong hand.  Idk…its just very frustrating as I feel I have GETTING TO the final table dialed in…but once I get to the final table I find my self busting out in 6-7th and it really sux.   My itm% is 11% which doesn't suprise me as I either build a nice stack early or bust out, just the nature of Rush holdem.

Whats yalls advice?  This is all new terrain to me I havn't had many final tables before this as I was playing the large field micro mtts 2k-5k people but these usually cap about 600 and thats a big one.    These tourneys are very top heavy @about 22-25% of prize pool going to 1st I REALLY need to get this Final Table dialed in.  just 1 more 1st and 3rd and my bankroll would be quadruple what it is now.

I really need to correct this as I am killing my profits by these early final table busts.

You probably don't have enough of a sample size to even predict if you're doing something wrong or not.  I've gone 20+ tournaments where I've finished 10th-18th in a big major, and then I've gotten top three in a bunch, as well.

Once you have a lot more final tables, we can try to focus on if there is a correlation.  As of right now, it's really hard to measure.

Yeah I went like 25 straight 10-18 finishes (which was completely maddening) then I won 3 in a row…not just FT  – straight out wins.

Because FT events are so rare it's really hard to judge your skill based on those numbers.  I'd suggest posting a few hands from your next FT and we can look at your thought process as it relates to specific spots.  That should give us some insight to help.
