Hi guys
First post here. Hope this is the right section of the forum. If not, feel free to mode it up. Also, sorry for any typos.
Ok..So i've been playing 0.50$ 45 man turbo sng, with a -~ 20% ROI over around 500 games (small sample, i know).
I've watched the bankroll builder series made by hitthepanda and big dog, and hope you can help with some questions:
1- At this lower levels (0.50$ and 1.50$), is it profitable to use the wide shoving range shown in the videos?
2- Against known tight/very tight players should we open that/even lighter to take advantadge of that? Or knowing that they will call tight, we should adjust shoving tighter than their calling range?
3- Is there a pushbot chart with shoving and calling ranges (positional and M oriented) available anywhere around these foruns based on the content of those videos (that i suppose it's considered mathematically optimal)?
4- ^^If not^^ How much should we take into account our M when considering how wide should we shove? The lower the M the wider we shove cause we're desperate? And when we get confortable, stack size wise, we should adjust and shove tighter?
I know it's kind of long, but hope to get some help. Thanks in advance guys.
Heres a couple thoughts
1- You have to always adjust. In smaller buy-ins you are adjusting to lighter calling ranges because so many people dont take it seriously. You should still be getting your chips in and looking to build.
2- I am always raising tight players more (when pots are worth it with antes), they fold so much and if they do not hit flops your cbets get through more. Just be prepared to shut it down vs tight villian if they show resistance.
3- Im not a chart guy. I use pokerstove if I am on the fence.
4- 'M' is a little out dated. BB's gives you a better feel for fold equity and all around scenario. Keep watching TPE vids and practicing and you will figure out what works best for you.
Thanks for that. U've played these alot?
So, regarding:
1. The higher the buy in, the more profitable shoving wide is? Shouldn't it be the other way around? I would thought that, as we move up, the most players are aware of optimal play (shoving wide in specific spots), thus calling lighter. Or because they're better players they know that they need a stronger range to call.
2. In my little experience you aren't often enough in a position of raise, c-betting and letting it go, stack size wise. It eats your stack away, specially as blinds go up. So we should shove and rely on fold equity right?
As for the diferences from the 0.50$ and the 1$50, open shoving your whole stack with KK+ at early levels it's way less profitable in the 1$50, and there's much more limping with strong hands at the 1$50s.. There are way more tight players in these, but still, ALOT of loose agro c-stations. Other than that..it's just about who runs hotter, i guess..
