Hey!
I'm a new member and so far I've only watched Wein's videos .. especially the SCOOP series is awesome. I noticed though that you don't really cbet that much. For example raise AK, flop comes Q high und you just check it down or c/f. Yet you do cbet when you have total air.
I guess it's because of showdown value, but aren't you afraid that people will take advantage of this (= just betting blind once you check the flop as the pfr)? I was thinking about the exact same thing lately .. back in the days, you were told to cbet every flop because it's so profitable and people don't have to fold that often to make it profitable. The newest trend though seems to be floating which turns cbetting into spew because you c/f the turn.
Would love to here your thoughts on this .. I always feel kind of stupid when I c/f a Q high flop with AK as the pfr .. or when I cbet and then c/f the turn lol
Hey black,
It def has to do with my showdown value. I try to mix things up, sometimes by cbetting turns or seeing what the board texture brings before I decide to put chips in the pot.
With how aggressive poker is these days, I find myself playing passively instead of always cbetting. It really just depends. if I have no showdown value on flops I often just try to take one stab at it, though.
Hope this helps, and ask me anything else.
