So a while back I asked PANDA what he would say was the number one obstacle to making money playing mtt's was for a competent player in his “Ask me anything” thread in this forum. His answer was basically to play when you were feeling it and not just because you wanted to make money. The answer took me by surprise and really got me to thinking. I pulled up my results for the first few days after coming off of breaks from playing that were 2 days or longer. My ROI is much higher during that 3 day period after coming off of the breaks in play. I realized that the tournaments that fell into this time period did not provide a large sample so I dug a little deeper and went over some of the actual hand histories from the tournaments played during that “fresh” period of play. The difference in my game during those periods as opposed to all other times appears to be quite significant. The enjoyment I get from the game also seems much greater during those first few days coming off of breaks. My questions are: Has anyone else took the time to do similar research over a sample size that is larger than my 1500 or so tournaments, and if so what did you find? Also how would some of you say a person who cannot put in huge volume for whatever reason, be it time constraints or simply lack of ability to perform either multitabling or playing on a day in and day out basis, approach the game differently than someone who can put in more volume. Does this effect bankroll requirements in anyway? I know there have to be some successful low volume tourney players out there. What does it take?

This is actually REALLY interesting and if anyone else keeps good records would love to hear how your results are sayin the 3 days immediately following a break compared to the rest of the time.
