Playing on Pstars nightly $11 @ 7pm est.  having a great time all night.  Here’s the hand and I’m not going to say which I had.  Please tell me what you think of both plays.

Just got in the money..  Blinds  500/1000 125 ante.  9 players at table.  Big Stack has 57k.  SB is sitting out.  BB has 8k.

-UTG +1, limps (1k), he has stack of 17.5k

-Everyone folds to button

-Button who has 26k, pushes all-in.

-UTG +1, calls.

Button has    AQo

UTG +1 has   99

FLOP:  nothing……4th street & river  nothing.       UTG= Wins

Was anyone’s play bad?  Was someone wrong?  Give me any advice on either play.

Of course my hand is the AQ.  Two hands later, I get TT and put my 7k all in.  Chip leader who did raise prior to my push had AA.  I flop a T, he goes runner runner for Quads, LOL.  I hate poker!

first, welcome to the site!

thanks for posting. i moved the thread here, as this is where all discussion of hands/strategy happens. unfortunately in moving the thread i lost the response given by JDOG, sorry.

as to the hand, i think limping the 99 in early position with that stack is pretty bad. there’s just no way to balance it without spewing–limping stuff like suited connectors and folding to a raise–so you’re better off either a) raising with a plan or b) shoving.

after he limps and it’s folded to you on the BTN it’s hard to say for sure if the shove is good or not without any reads on UTG+1. has he been limping a lot, or had he generally been opening pots for a raise? was he tight? loose? all these help us to assign him a range afterwhich we can better answer whether or not the shove is good.

in general, with effective stacks of 17BB, i think the shove is fine.

with 7BB, unless theres like a raise and four shoves, you should never be folding TT. just unlucky.
