Villain is new to the table, only one hand, a PF fold. First half an hour of the tournament. Thoughts?
He played it so strong preflop, I only initially had him on AKo/s, JJ+. My thought process was, if he’s willing to punt off 100 bigs with AK here, I’ll probably find a better spot to get them from him. What do you guys think? Have you made tough overpair folds early in tournaments consistently?

I think the overbet on the flop looks week, and that maybe was what V tried to do here.
I think all goes if you think he shove AK on this flop, with the range you give him, JJ+ and AK, there is 40 combos, and 16 of them are AK, almost half. On the equity calculator you have 54% versus that range of hands. Depends on how sure you are that V will shove AK on this spot.

I definitely don’t think it’s bad to fold here as you are super early in the tourny with over 100bb. Almo has some great insight though as over half those combos are AK and some JJ as well.
This also looks like a bounty tournament.. and you do not cover his stack. I think you can find a better spot and fold.
