I’ve been working on my push/fold game and while I don’t love SNG Wizard, I’m using up the 30 day trial I have before I pony up for something else. I felt like I should shove here but didn’t, feeling like button would call me too wide. So I ran this through SNG Wiz and ICMizer and came up with different results. ICMizer says I should be pushing 37% in this spot. SNG Wiz says I should be pushing any 2. When I adjusted calling ranges in the wiz, which I’m not completely sure I did correctly, it still said to shove 98%.

So I folded and of course the flop came with two sevens and I bashed my head against the wall. J/k about that last part, but I ended up busting from MP a couple hands later with 33.

Regardless of the results, what’s the right play here? Conflicting softwares are confusing.

havent used sng wiz in forever, but I dont see how that can be correct. the 37% sounds pretty reasonable; Im thinking maybe something with the K.O. is messing up the results?

i assume and only assume that the difference between the two is one is calculating cEV in this spot and the other $EV

compared it to what holdemresources says with payout winner takes all.

you can do it on their page

Yup, agree with FlorianM1. Most likely you need to change it to cEV as $EV is only useful in playing cash.

Ive been doing work on the same thing in recent times. I got bored in a tournament break and ran it through the holdem resources push fold calculator for you, that came up with 40%. 10 7 suited or 10 9 off suit makes the cut – so correct fold according to that.

It does sound like one calculator was doing ICM while the other was doing cEV. There’s no other likely reason for such a big differentiation.

FWIW, I personally believe HoldemResources Calculator to be the best calculator on the market for these kinds of things. I would recommend that one if you’re going to purchase one (which is necessary if you’re serious about improving).
