I have been tight, Button is 11/7 but opening about 25% in the steal positions higher OTB

We are far from the money in a 45 man sng

When reviewing this hand I thought calling puts us in a real tough spot on most flops.  We don't get paid on our sets and we are lost when overs hit, usually giving up.  Raising 2.5-3x his open is tough because we are now putting in ~30% of our stack and we have to call a shove, but that seems way too high varience and unecessary. So I wanted to see if open shoving makes sense or if I am just crazy.  He folds out tons of hands that we flip with and defend our blind vs future steals.  When we are called we are rarley in terrible shape.

New to the site, wanted to start with something simple.

Even though the open shove looks strong from the BB, it is not worht the risk in my opinion for the 225 pot. If the blinds were higher I could see this as a good move in some cases but if you get called it will usually be by better and you put yourself at risk for very little return. If he has been stealing a lot, I would raise it 3x and see how he reacts, he could lay it down, because a 3-bet raise from BB looks strong as well. I don't like flatting because we will hit the flop 1/3 of the time. 3-bet if you are confident that he is stealing, fold if not sure, but I do not like a shove at these blind levels. IMO
