In this spot, in multi way pot with 99 in BB, I just check here. My question is should I have raised pre?

With the effective stacks of the villains (excluding the sb who is completing with a WIDE range) who are @20bb eff I may just like a shove here pre.  With this tourney you are going to be call off with so much worse it is not even funny.  I don't like raising to iso/squeeze because you are going to be called an in many cases when you miss your set you will have overs come and will be in an awkward spot.  I think I like a shove and if they fold you pick up the dead money in middle.  If called and lose you will still have over 50bb.  I would like to see what others say though.  Best of luck at the tables.

Shove pre is fine for reasons stated by Terb. I think you can make an argument for checking pre as well. You are so deep and picking up a few BB's without ante's compared to ability to stack opponents by set mining with superior post-flop play is something to consider. As Terb said though, you might get that value just as easy by jamming because it is a donkfest and they might just call off light.

As played, I am always donk leading this flop. It is a draw heavy board and it is likely someone has an A so you can start getting your value right away by donk leading and it saves you from check/raising and revealing your hand too early.

being 88 bbb deep I honestly like set mining here.  There are some times when you wil be getting called by worse pairs that limped but I think more times than not you will get called by broadways and limped monsters.  Limped monsters a little less unlikely though.  My point being you either scoop like 1k which is only 5bb at this point in time with the risk of getting called, taking away 30bb of yours.  Or you can set mine, getting great implied odds, and a flop for your other opponets to connect with and be willing to get it in.  Defintiley would like a check here.  At 50bb or less I like jam.

I am going through this post and looked at this post and not realizing that is i my pot. What the hell is this?

Pre Flop: (t480) Hero is BB with 9 of spades 9 of hearts
1 fold, DianeDimond calls t200, 1 fold, yodaofpoker calls t200, PrincessMarilyn calls t200, 2 folds, RattFinkk calls t100, Hero checks

Hmmm….I think that it is fine for the check BUT I have 4 limpers WHAT? Why didn't I lead out this Pre? I have played a lot of hands since this OP and I can  now not fathom, why I just check.

Thanks all!

I dont think I would rip here given the fact there is one stack of 36 bbs. But I think 4 or 5xing here and calling anyones shove but the 36 bb stack is the way to go. Alot of the 20 bb stacks may feel your just trying to steal here and rip really really light with what they perceive as Fold equity. I think ripping is a little extreame although it works a huge percentage of the time. I would raise 4x prolly and call everyones shove but the big stack.

Dunno if you'll read this. At small buy in mtt's no one reshoves on you here. You get flatted by 1 or more. How does this change the way you think about the hand?

good point – i think a 4 or 5x does the same as a shove for all the short stacks, but allows you to get away if the big stack wakes up

Coolers. I do see that at least a lead here would have at least polorized some of the limpers out of the pot in my experience. I would say that ripping it would be called by some Ace rags and definately pairs all the way down to bigdogs. It is a 1.00 deepstack turbo freeze out bigD. I do think that ripping or 5x would accomplish the same result. Folds. It took the extra unnecessary chips to get the folds after 5 players see the flop.
