Hi pros and wannabe pros, I have a very very very amateur question, kind of what a newbie would ask. I have seen many HH analyses where we break open pokerstove and analyze our equity in the pot for a certain hand situation. Now, lets say I try to put this thinking into practice in a live tournament.
For simplicity sakes, let's say I raise and villain moves all-in and it is up to me. With the amount of chips to call, I am calculating that I need to be winning 40% of the time if I make the call. I range the villain on say, top 7% of hands. Now, is it purely based on experience of analyzing HH that you guys figure out if you beat that range and it is a worthy call? To me, things make sense when I analyze my hand after the tournament, but I can't seem to put two and two together while I make my decision. Any advice towards that?
Thanks in advance!!
