I’m very much enjoying this so far. I’m 2/3 of my way through on a quick read – I’ll give it a thorough read post hay-fever season… #sniff

I’m really appreciating the shift from toy games to NL hands between I and II. My background is mathematical, so the rudimentary games presented in I were pretty straightforward. For me, the insight in II is coming from tying abstract GT concepts I’m comfortable with to specific poker spots, which I’ve found challenging to do without expert help. It’s also good to expand the toolkit of concepts – for example, adding linear hand-ranges (and how to play them) to the more familiar polarised vs. condensed discussion. In this context, the discussion of Pushing Equity has begun to clarify somewhat vague notions I had around growing the pot when I have range advantage.

As expected, the style is clear and careful, and I’m finding the chapter structure helpful, in terms of introducing, discussing and then testing ideas.

I have been a TPE member for about 8 months and watched most of Andrews videos which I love. Just bought his first book last week. I’m shocked as to how much the book fundamentally and practically changed my game for the better. Just made my biggest online cash and came 1 of 900 in a $16.5 on ACR tonight. If the second book is anywhere near as good as the first I can’t wait to read it. Great job Andrew!
