Ten handed monthly regional midwestern donkament – $340 – 40 minutes levels – starts with 300bb

Hand 1-

Currently @ 50/100 – 13k effective stax

Hero has 77 in the lowjack – 14k

Utg, a loose passive baby Boomer open limps. Folds to the guy on my immediate right in MP who is a satellite winner over limps. He’s been active in a bad way. He’d probably have stats of 43/17. Hero limps. The button Is a local taggy reg, he over limps as well. The sb – a laggy active 20s something fella – sheepishly makes it $450. The utg folds. The satellite winner now quickly back raises to 1675. Hero folds because I was somewhat fearful of a 4b from the sb. If I was a 100% sure that the pot wasn’t going to be reraised I’d probably Call.

Btw if you were the “reg ” otb what would you do with a similar hand – mid pp – if i folded?

Overlimp – I agree, this is a good time to set-mine.

When the SB raises to this size, it seems unlikely he is trying to steal the pot. He is bloating the pot out of position, and probably has a very strong range. For this reason, I agree you should be fearful of a 4b and realize that you are never ahead of this guy. You are flipping or crushed. Given that, you obviously can't call a 4 bet and it honestly seems very likely.

I think button's situation is largely the same as yours, he does have one less limper to worry about, but it's the SB you should both be scared of.

I don't think you should be looking to call the $1675 even if you were 100% sure that a 4bet wasn't coming.

Just wanna say a big thanks to the replies here – in the title I my stats accidentily from 2p2 – oops – I posted it there too. This is a fabulous place. I've been down on 2p2 for a while so I think I might be giving this a shot. I just bot a 1year subscription.
