I'm thinking of buying some poker software to help my game, which poker software do you recommend, PokerTracker or PokerOffice? I read somewhere it's a personal preference, but does one have better features than others?

The second question is about using them, what do you gain from using poker tracking software? I've had a little play with them and found the stats given out interesting, but I've yet to see anything which jumps out of me that will improve my game. Could someone tell me how they use the software to improve their game.

Thanks,
Chris

I'd recommend Holdem Manager (2). Or Holdem Manager Cloud, should be out soon.

I don't think many people use PokerOffice, but Pokertracker or Holdemmanger is probably a matter of choice, though I heared that HM2 is more customizable.

Having used both PokerTracker and Hold Em Manager, I prefer Hold Em Manager by miles. The HUD on screen while playing is great on both, but I find HEM a lot easier for analysing statistics, a lot more intuitive, and studying with it once having a sizeable database has helped my game no end. Only disappointing thing is it doesn't work on Mac so if you have a Mac then PT4 is your main option.

Funny, Im using HM2 but Im currently thinking about moving back to PT (already had PT3), just waiting for a good offer. I dont find HM2 very intuitive and its also very resource-intensive even on my modest database and couple of small things about the HUD (and the way you can adjust it). When PT4 came out it worked very bad on my system but I recently tested it again and its much better now. Anyway, its correct that its a matter of preferences, poker office may be ok too. All programs are offering free trials so you should def use that.

That's cool, it's all choices. I don't think there's much between them at all. Actually what I did like about the HUD on PT4 was you could set it so that it was transparent until the mouse hovered over which made it easier to see the action.

Thanks for the replies.

I've installed HM2 and found it to be allot better than the other software out there. I'm looking forward to sifting through my hand history everyday to find leaks :).
