(I tried to find a hand converter but none of them worked. No matter which one I tried they all told me no valid data after cutting and pasting from the HH folder)
$10 R/A blinds are 125/250 with 25 ante. I'm actually in for about $30 or $40 after rebuying a couple of times.
I'm 2nd at the table in chips with more than 11K after a fish called my shove with 75s. The table is a mix of good players and fish.
The Villian has a little more than 8K and I sense he's fairly solid. I'm in the BB . I'm dealt pocket 10s
3 folds and a min-raise from villain in MP
HJ calls, Cut off folds, button folds, SB completes and Hero checks. 4 players to the flop.
Villain and I have played out some hands together but I don't have a good read on his range except from the HUD.
Villain open raises a lot of pots and bets post flop but I get the sense his range is suited Ax and suited paint maybe 8s, or 7s and up to JJ.
At this point we have 27 hands together.

*** FLOP *** [5s,9h,7h]
SB checks
Hero: checks
Villain: bets 1090 everyone else folds back to me.
Hero: calls 1,090. This smells like a c-bet. I have an overpair to the board but I could be way behind so pot control seemed like a good idea.
*** TURN *** [6c]
Hero: checks
Villain: insta checks
Now I'm thinking he might have opened A8 and checked back on the turn to set up the river bet. I'm pretty much done with this hand.
*** RIVER *** [Qc]
Hero: checks
Villain: is all in 6,415. Is this out of line? Seems like a lot if he has the straight or trips.
I tanked for 30 secs running through range and could only see myself not liking the call.
Hero: folds

My thoughts at the time was to thin the field with a big preflop raise. I don't know why I didn't except that I was afraid of a bad flop. Should I have been more aggressive pre and post flop with raises?
Do you guys pay attention to your own HUD stats?
I also have a hard time divorcing myself from bad results with pairs like 10s in the past. One of the holes in my game includes holding on to bad feelings from getting outflopped.
I don't get any solace from the knowledge that I may have gotten it in with the best hand. Does that come with time? Am I just too results oriented?
On another note in a different hand I raised preflop with JJ. I was reraised by the chip leader. I reraised him and he shoved. I didn't have to call but I had a feeling that he was bullying his stack.
I was right and he had AQs. Flop was favorable but a Q on the turn. I did the right thing but it still gnaws at me that I lose with AQ a lot in that same spot. I felt like Buckner in '86 snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Sorry if this post was too cumbersome but I as i said I couldn't find a hand converter that worked.

You're initial thought to 3bet would have been better given the stack sizes.

Firstly you probably have the best hand and so 3 bet for value and secondly you avoid the situation you got yourself into. It is very difficult to range a a players hand the way you played it.

Post flop, you're OOP and you have no idea where your at. Great flop for tens, but is it?? You don't know. A 3 bet pre would've helped you get some more info and would've made you the aggressor and control of the pot post flop had you obviously got to the flop. If the villian had 4 bet me, depending on what I know in this spot, I would've jammed or folded. But to complete  and play this OOP multiway, asking for trouble. Short of hitting a Ten on a dry flop, it is just to difficult to range the other players.

Early and really deep stacks, I might flat here, but not once the stacks get shallower.

The only solace you can get from getting your chips in good but losing is the long term expectation. I never feel good losing a pot when I'm way ahead, and also don't feel that great winng a pot when I'm way behind. I hate when I get my chips in bad. Sure I take the win and the chips, but I always reflect on the spot and see if I can improve, I always want to see my chips in the middle with the best hand. Of course that is impossible but it's still worth the excercise.

If you're a winning player, just look at the profit and the end of a decent period, 3 to 6 months. You winning? Great take solace in that. If you get your chips in good most of the time, you will be a winning player, it's impossible not to be.

My nemisis hand is QQ. I've lost more big pots and tournaments online and live with that hand than any other. Every time I get them I just want to fold. Early in the tourney, middle of tourney or late. As soon as I get dealt QQ, my stomach churns and fear abounds, but I don't act on those feelings. I play QQ as best as I know how each and every time. I won't let my past fears and dissappointments affect the way I play that hand. Likewise, you will have to do the same with the hands that are affecting your play and judgement. Ignore them and play the hand accordingly. In the long run you will be rewarded. PS I'm still waiting to be rewarded with QQ but it will happen.

Good luck m8.
