Such a generic question that giving a determinant answer is difficult, if not impossible.

It all depends on the table dynamic, stage of the tournament, villains etc etc

With 30bb im still opening wide in profitable positions against guys that dont defend enough or defend too wide and check/fold alot on the flop. 3betting light is really good at these sorta stacks as you tend to put villain to a decision of 4bet or fold, depending on sizing.

We still have room to open pots and cbet/2barrel/3barrel with a 30bb stack however I start feeling more comfortable to get creative and have room to move in the 30-40bb range.

Asking a question like “how agg should we be?” is not a easy question to answer. How aggressive we should be relies on alot of factors. Its not particularly a straight-forward answer as its a fluid concept based on alot of variables.

First reply kinda nailed it. Applying blanket rules to different stack sizes is generally a bad idea. Not to mention, 20bb is not exactly a straightforward stack at all.

Between 20 and 30bb is a time to look out for opportunities to chip up through small pots, as Kalculater mentioned, and take advantage of the shorter stacks who are folding too much. But it does depend entirely on tournament structure – if you have 30bb in a turbo, you're bossing the table, whereas in a deepstack, you might feel a little short.

A better question to ask is “how aggressive can we get away with being?” – that's always going to depend on the table. At tables full of good players you can expect to have a lot of pressure put on you when you have a 30bb stack, because it's an awkward stack to play. But if the table is weak, you can often get away with playing a lot more hands since your opponents just aren't going to be looking to play back at you very often.
