Hi all,
I've been trying to open suited connectors in late position more often these days… and been reviewing past games to assess my relative success… I came across this badboy…
I feel my betsizing was abit on the small size, and I generally struggle with these oop spots.
Any advice on playing these types of hands oop would be appreciated, and given my opponent's stack sizes and the texture of the flop should I be folding???

bet sizing is WAY goo small here.
there are so many draws on a board like that, in fact he is literally calling everything probably, except for smaller pairs.
i would be making it at least 1300, probably even 1500 on the flop, and that way you can put JMxr in on the turn if you want to
Agree with benny. Betting small oop on such a draw heavy board, when you flop that big, is just asking for trouble. Since villian just limps pre, I am even more worried about his range fitting a lot of those types of draws that this flop produces. Betting 1200-1400 on flop seems fine and getting it in on that sweet turn card is the way to go.
Playing these types of hands in position is a really important part of a players game and how you play them depends on your opponents. I am open-raising and 3betting a lot of these types of hands in position in the later stages and following them up with cbets and two barrels depending on the scenario.
This particular hand though you have in the BB and it would be somewhat silly to raise pre unless you know your opponents and think you can get away with a squeeze, but even that is silly since you would have to show down with the short stack all-in. The only way I think about that play is if my image is mega-tight and I want to change my image and use it to my advantage later. So you see a free flop and hit bottom two, take control in a bigger way and be somewhat cautious because I am not putting it past the villian to possibly flop a straight here with his hand range possibilities, however, if he did then he would be worried about the clubs and that does not seem to be the case. GLGL!
