playing live for the first time in about 14 hours, any of you crushers out there have any tips for beating live?

It’s only a 15 pound buyin with about 25-40 players

At those stakes, assume they aren’t bluffing until they show the capability.

If you play pretty ABC poker you’ll be profitable, just wait for good spots, and pay attention to every showdown so you can begin to build a profile on each player at your table.

Finally, remember, if they re-raise you on the river it is highly unlikely they are bluffing so you can fold out about 80% of your range ^-^.

All great advice above. Something I always tell people playing live for the first time…announce your action. if you are going to raise, say “raise”. if you are calling say “call”.  This helps avoid the mistake I’ve seen dozens of times from inexperience live players from putting in oversize ships, or not putting in enough for whatever the case might be.

Most of all, have fun!  Live poker can feel PRETTY slow to someone that has only played online, so enjoy the experience and use the times when you are card dead to work on the practice of identifying live reads or, as mentioned above, profiling your opponents.

Let us know how it goes!

At that level you should assume very little bluffing and extreme passiveness, as well as a reluctance to fold preflop. I would say 3-bet wider for value preflop but you won’t see a lot of preflop raising. Just be careful with your isolating ranges versus limpers, you’ll get flatted by players who have position on you more often than you want. Do a lot of limping behind in MP and raising in the CO or BTN.

Above all, enjoy it. In a £15 game there’s no pressure at all, so just have fun!
