Hey TPE,
So as some of you know, I was recently on a heater due to me playing tight and starting to use a HUD. By playing tight I didn't get into as many tough spots as to when I was playing aggressive, and due to this change, my results improved drastically.
However, all of a sudden I realize I'm playing worse and worse. The past 3 days I have been playing horrible poker, and I know it. I have tried watching videos and reviewing old hand histories, but during todays session I caught myself 4 bet clicking it back after he 3 bet clicked it back, and i had AK? lol. Not sure what I was thinking but ok. I also haven't cashed in anything for 3 days, which is a new record for me (inexperience ftw).
Anyway, what do you guys do when you are running through a stretch like this? I know 3 days isn't a big sample but I am a perfectionist and I want to play every hand perfect. If I see myself make stupid mistakes that cost me a chunk of my stack, I want to hang myself. I'd get coaching, but it's too expensive and I don't know if it would help. If I knew it would help me 100%, I'd do it, but as of right now I love money too much.

first thing i would say is wait until you have a 3 month downswing.
Going on a heater one day and then bricking off tourneys for the next few days is pretty standard. Make sure you review your play, and if there are a heap of spots that you think you played poorly, post some of the hands. if you think you played ok, then it is probably just variance
One thing I do is video myself when I play. Sometimes it is rare painful to go back and watch. But it can be, in my opinion one of the best teaching tools. With any professional sport/athlete, video review is standard for achieving a higher level of play. If I am in the right mood, I’ll even comment while taping so I can reference why I do the things I do.
3 days should not be too detrimental to your roll if you are playing within your means 😉

this could be the issue here – do you use bankroll management richard?
Mate, you mentioned that you were playing 70hr weeks on Skype! Dude, I don’t reckon that’s healthy, you risk burning out. When I’m downward swinging I take at least a week off, maybe watch some vids, listen to podcasts, or just do something else non poker related. Give yourself some headspace to reignite your enthusiasm, clear your mind and generate some energy. I would also advise forking out for a pro coaching session, like I said before…. If you get too immersed in your own play “you can’t see the forrest for the trees”.
Also I agree with the others, a 3 day downswing isn’t a concern with proper BRM.
