I was playing a live cash game last night and found myself thinking about draws in a way I never really had before. I know this isnt a cash game thread but it applies to tournaments as well and this thread gets way more traffic.
I was just wondering how much value we are missing by calling the flop with 8 or 9 outs (when priced in), but then folding the turn when not priced in?
I don't have a specific hand example to post – but assuming that im the hero in a hand where i have an open ended straight draw or a flush draw (my pair outs aren't live, the board isn't paired) and i call a bet getting 4-to-1 with anywhere between 33% & 36% equity. If my plan is to just fold the turn when i don't hit and i don't get the correct price to call again, should i just not call in the first place? because that equity is based on me saying both of the next two cards.
is calling the turn not priced in ok if i plan on bluffing a certain amount of rivers when i don't hit? and how should my plan change when i have the nut flush draw and think my three ace outs are good?
