Hey guys, any vids in particular, or perhaps a future vid on how to handle a big stack.? Too many times I have been chip leader, then to falter to call shoves and allow everyone to catch up. I see so many calling shoves with marginal hands because they have the stack covered. This is the difference for me. Any advice?

sorry but the question is far too general to really answer…

I know this is a cop out:  but it depends on what the table is giving you.  If they are playing weak as money jumps happen, then attack.  If they are shoving really wide with their 10-20bbs stack, then tighten up and wait for them to knock out each other and bring the stacks back to something where you can open again.

General advice when playing a big stack?

Raise pretty frequently to start with so you can see what you'll get away with.

You don't need to call 15 bb shoves with weakish hands just because you have 60 bb's and can bust someone.

Personally I'd rather steal the blinds and antes 3 times uncontested than risk 15 bb's with a hand like A8s just because we can talk ourselves into calling because we have a lot of chips.

i would pretty much start raising every second hand, just to see how they react

if they are folding, then keep doing it – if the are reshoving then tighten up. if they are calling too often, make sure you are in position.

put the pressure on the 20bb stacks when they are in the blinds. i.e if you are in the cutoff with 60bb but effective stacks are 20bb, i live shoving here with a huge range because they very rarely call down light
