.i think u played it fine…that early i’m rarely squeezing…cause ur basically turning 77 into a bluff since i don’t know if u want to get 60 bigs in with 77 and i don’t really want to fold this pf with these sort of implied odds.  …like the call on the flop…sometimes i donk the turn, but i usually check like u did…and when btn piles…just an ez muck…think u palyed it fine

Yeah looks perfect. It’s correct to fold more often to large bets than to small ones. They key is to recognize that because you are folding hands like this, V has some incentive to shove, and that gives you incentive to check some big hands to him on the river.

Like, if you had Tx or especially 66, it’s a pretty good spot to check river, in part because V might do something like this.

Ok so a few notes and thoughts about the above hand.

1- UTG  opener seems tight but in a very small sample.

2- MP+1 has stood out to me as someone I really want to play pots with and appears to be a loosing player in a small sample.

3- BTN  appears to be winning player in small sample in mostly $215 MTT’s and $500 HU sitngo’s on this site/sn.

4- I have previously folded river to this type of river over shove once already at this table.

Questions/comments.

What if any line would you take differently before the river?

Should we ever be 3 betting pre?

Lead flop?

Fold flop?

I feel like I might have considered a check raise on the turn had villain bet and depending on sizing?

With little info I do believe this is the type of player to be over shoving here for value hoping to look like a bluff but the more I look at this hand the more my brain hurts mostly because I’m not sure if this can ever be much less then a Ten or at least very often

Why am I calling the flop out of position? Is it because I think I might still have the best hand?

Sure. Plus pretty good odds, closing the action, back door straight draw, etc.
