V was active: 100hands 27/20 13,3 ; And me 36/30 10,2 (I said to myself to nit it up but I couldn’t resist I feel like it’s bad and not for the result… for me is easyer to say it after game but in game is different)

The thing is that V has open at least twice (for what I rememberl) in UTG vs BB (BB is a nit: 100 hands 12/9) the other orbit I folded A8o in the SB on the same action… in game I feel like the Ax was laughing on my face…. I had to 3-bet them… for the record I nit it up 16 hands until this lol…

I believe it could be better if I wait until we are down to 5 atleast… or 4 ??? icm

I decided to tighten a while because I was 1st in chips on 80k a couple hands ago… and then I go down to this stack…and ofc my image…

Anyways I finished 6th in this hand…

I appreciate if someone recomend a vid or anything…. I don’t have an issue in giving the HH of the FT or whatever…

I like it. Even though u have gone down in stacksize, you've been playing pretty tight ,so your image is good. You've also metioned that you folded your sb before, So i'd say your 3-bet looks pretty damm strong imo. 3-beting with Ax is good , as we block some combo's of villian having an ace and thats good for us , though i'd prefer if it was suited, but i still like your 3-bet anyhow, what you're doing is pretty much widen your 3-bet range a tad which is 3-betting Ax hands that are non suited, this is a good spot for it. Why? because i doubt he's going to play back at you i.e. 4-bet you with a very wide range, espically when its ICM,  so if he does 4-bet , its likely going to be with a narrow range. If we knew villian tends to call 3-bets often , i'd fold here and 3-bet with a wider value range instead , so yeah i'd be bluffing less IF we had that read.

V certainly should be calling often considering the odds he’s getting in position….

yeah, 3-betting a heavy blockers range vs this villain ain’t great as they’ll be calling more , will need to construct a 3-bet range and that’s hands that have better post flop playability so when called we at least have a decent hand to play, J8s-J9s K7s-K9s , Q7s-Q9s , A2s-A9s , those type of hands, perhaps?

Whats your 3-bet sizing looks like there?

If I had to choose I like more a depolarized range… but there with that dinamics… Im 3-beting even with suited trash, my main concern is that if we are better or is a must wainting until the guy with 12bbs doubles or goes out and passing this marginals hands in sb or isn't bad at all…

Thanks both

Hey

if you decide to 3-bet with suited trash , you're very likely going to be 3-betting way to much then you need to be. There's a downside to this and that is villian may very well decide to call your 3-bets more often IP and play perfectly vs you or may even decide to 4-bet you lighter as well.

So i think it's very important to construct a balanced 3-bet range , you'd want to 3-bet not to much and not to little. I'm not advanced player or anything but i've watched a few 3-bet videos and i did struggle with this part were you figure out the % you should be 3-betting for it to be ev+ and i think this depends on the range that villian is opening.

Though i do agree passing up this hand in the sb ain't bad at all 🙂
