Hey, i was just wondering what some of your opionions are on flops that come down something 9 7 9 and you hold A 7, how often are often is someone going to have a 9 or pair higher than 7's , this has seemed to be coming up more and more , and ive been shoved on by people with nothing but overcards, and checked back to by pocket pair  higher than my pair on the board and then i get snap called/shoved on depending on my bet, how do you guys approach these partially hit flops?

Always depends on the situation, but they won't have trips that often.  I think <10% (not positive)

As for overpairs, if they open'd from early/middle position its more likely that they can have an overpair in their hand than if they raised in late position, unless they're a nit, in which case its always likely they can have an overpair.

Hope this helps, GL

yea thanks i think ive been greatly underestimating the possibilty that they have an overpair, i always find myself saying there is no way they have the overpair when i am getting played back at, and that tends to be the last hand i play in the tourney when they do have the overpair, so if i get some serious action would it be a good rule of thumb to think that they are not being overly aggressive without some sort of hand?

Just adding my 2 cents, but if someone had a 9, on a 9-7-9 flop, unless there are 2 same suit, i would think most players would slow play a little, to try to get a couple bets in there.  You would HOPE TT or JJ re-raised you, whereas a shove may scare people away.  I would be more concerned with a float on this flop than a re-raise.   I would think JJ or TT would just bet, or shove hoping to get AQ, AK, and TJ, off the hand.

IMO….
