Hi,

Would be interesting to have more info on villain, is he a reg, a calling station, what is his range for calling preflop? I think I would bet pretty small on the turn something like 25k to thin value his JT, JJ, Kx, Tx, any pair + draw, etc… If he shoves I'm probably calling because I don't think the 7 hits his range and if he was slowplaying on the flop I think he will continue on the turn and our sizing can induce some bluff or semibluff (or a shove by Kx). If he calls I'm probably shoving a lot of rivers (except K, Q, J, 8).

But it's hard to answer without information on villain

By betting turn we get value from the 3 Kx that we beat and probably thats it. Everything else folds to a two barrel….unless hes a station. So if he is then i like betting turn since he’ll continue with JJ/QQ and pair/draw combos like QT/JT/Q9 etc. i will have a hard time b/f against an aggro dood whos repping the nuts, set, or KT so i will talk myself into calling. Against a passive station i dont hate a b/f. And if hes tight then he folds JJ/QQ and also he rarely has those combos so i like chk turn as he will chk back his showdown range and bet stuff that beat us, plus we cant get three streets here. Chk turn is prob my option against a nit but not against a looser dood imo.

This is a good spot to bet like 22k and set up a river shove.  Its small enough to keep a lot of hands in(without giving them enough direct value), sets up the river nicely(from my rough mental calc) and prevent the turn from going checked.

Shutemdown, is right in regars toa  standard bet basically just valuing the kings, maybe in some worlds get some stationy Ts-Qs to call.

My river plan is to shove every river that isnt a J/Q/K.  My reasoning here is that if he has something like a T, and another T comes, are we really c/fing?  I doubt it and that would require some crazy reads(nitty enough on river to make it a fold but somehow lose enough on flop+turn to get there with dry T).  Basically we are losing our stack if he backdoors some random trips or two pair that isnt with a K/Q/J when we check, so might as well value the hands we still ebat by betting.

I think checking is just too gross here, but I guess c/c'ing down and check/bombing if he checks back is fine.

why is a dry 7 scarry?

it only completes the 86 and J8 sd.

we are beat now. we were additionally already beat agains set and 2pair

still there are too many Kx, Tx which he is calling.

I am in camp Custer here and bet turn to set up <PSB shove on river

side note:

think the concept of planing ahead with looking at PSB for future streets is a very important topic to set up river shoves.

I know own gaines worked this out in one of his books. might be a good idea to look it up or for a pro to write an article about it

cheers

looking back at it I like a bigger 3b size pre. Ur basically inviting him to cal with his entire range which is fine but lets get more in pre to build pot and set it up where we play two streets oop and not three. We cud make it 17125. Then flop cbet goes 22475 or whatvr. Setting up a perfect turn shove.
